Career History
Dr Don Urquhart is a Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh. He trained in respiratory paediatrics at the Royal Brompton and Great Ormond Street Hospitals before undertaking a Sleep Fellowship at Mater Children’s in Brisbane, Australia in 2008-2009. He was awarded an MD in 2010 (University College London) following research into the relationship of sleep hypoxia and measures of inflammation in children with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Don is co-chair of the UK paediatric sleep videoconferencing network, and also sits on the local organising committee of the International Paediatric Sleep Association (IPSA) 2012 conference. He has a number of peer-reviewed publications, as well as national and international presentations in various areas of paediatric respiratory medicine, including asthma, CF and sleep medicine.
